Listeners, mastering different tenses is one of the most important aspects of learning a language. Can you try making a past tense sentence in Hebrew?

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for posting and sharing your work!

Well done! Your phrase is almost perfect (after the correction 😉)

Note that you had a little mistake in the word "yesterday" - it is written with "א" and not with an "ע"

"אתמול"

Keep up the great work! 👍

ah I know what I did. my eyes shifted to the sentence above while I was recopying my handwriting. I wonder now if I used the preposition "C" for "as" an important link. Thanks for your assistance and you are so polite!

lol. I must have had a mind slip. I know the difference between computer and gift, but I'm happy that I got the past tense correctly.

Hi Shelley,

One small correction - in the 2nd sentence - "She liked the dress as a gift." you translated it as "במחשב"

but actually the right translation is "היא אהבה את השמלה כמתנה" gift = מתנה.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Jhon,

"Et" is a term used to indicate a direct object.

et... me,you him, her. it, us, them.

In this lesson: "הילדה באמת אוהבת את הכלבלבים"

Ha'yalda be'emet ohevet et ha'klavlavim

(the girl really loves the puppies)

The "Et" in this sentence indicates the puppies.

Hi John,

Nice distinction!

In Hebrew language, all verbs in simple present tense and present progressive tense are written and sound the same.

When spoken, you'd be able to understand according to the context.
