Shalom, Roi,

Great-Yes I was just making a connection to a similar construction. I now understand about "Lhootz" Thank you and I feel I am making some headway with "et"!

Hi Shelley,

Yes, you understood all corrections right :)

I'm not sure I understand the difficulty with ื”ื—ื•ืฆื”, it works just as ื™ืžื™ื ื” as you mentioned, and also ืฉืžืืœื” (to the left) ืœืžืขืœื” (upright) ืœืžื˜ื” ("downwards") and ืคื ื™ืžื” (to the inside).

ืœื—ื•ืฅ might also be acceptable but is a little archaic and not in common use in this kind of context...

Does it answers your question?

Yours,

Roi

Shalom Roi, I understand about beautifully in 1. You put in an "et" because your rooms is specific? I'm surprized about 2.-so lahootz is incorrect there? I understand hhootzah as"to" the outside, however, because yaminah is" to" the right is a parralell construction. 3 and 4 are correct! Hurray! On five you put an "et" in because it is specific again and both 1 and 5 are specific plural so " the", "h", does not come before the nouns, your rooms and their rugs? Thanks for your further clarification.

Hi Shelley,

Thanks for commenting! Good work, but still a few corrections -

1. ื™ืคื™ื = beautiful. to say "beautify" or "in a beautiful manner" we add "ื™ืคื” ืžืื•ื“", parallel to "very well".

ื ื™ืงื™ืชื ืืช ื—ื“ืจื™ื›ื ื™ืคื” ืžืื•ื“

2. leaves = ืขืœื™ื (singular is ืขืœื”,), to the outside is simply - "ื”ื—ื•ืฆื”".

3.

4.

5. missing an "ET" - ื”ื ืฉืื‘ื• ืืช ืฉื˜ื™ื—ื™ื”ื

Roi

Hi Victor,

the word ื‘ืขืœืช in that sentence is part of a phrase ื‘ืขืœ ืขืจืš/ื‘ืขืœืช ืขืจืš, meaning valuable. In this context, the housewives are doing valuable work. The reference is to the work, not the women.

Hope I answered your question,

Omer

Team HebrewPod101,

I'm having a hard time figuring out the meaning/function of the word ื‘ืขืœืช in the following sentence:

.ืขืงืจื•ืช ื‘ื™ืช ืขื•ืฉื•ืช ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื‘ืขืœืช ืขืจืš ืจื‘ ,ืื‘ืœ ื‘ื“ืจืš ื›ืœืœ ืœื ืžืงื‘ืœื•ืช ืžืฉื›ื•ืจืช

Is this a reference to the word "landlady" (ื‘ืขืœืช ื”ื‘ื™ืช)? As in "this is very valuable landlady work".

Thanks.
