John: Hi, everyone. I'm John.
Katja: And I'm Katja.
John: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Hebrew about an unusual thing found at a local market. אייל (Eyal) finds an unusual item at a local market, posts an image of it, and leaves this comment.

John: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "finally."
Katja: סוף-סוף (sof-sof)
John: Literally it translates to "end-end" or "end to end." It’s a saying that can conclude a story when it gets to its point, but it can also mean an end to something you’ve been waiting for. Listen again - "finally" is...
Katja: (SLOW) סוף-סוף (sof-sof) (REGULAR) סוף-סוף (sof-sof)
John: Then comes the phrase - "possible” or “may.”
Katja: אפשר (efshar)
John: This word could be an adjective or an adverb. When you want to generally state that a sort of action is possible, you say
Katja: "אפשר"
John: and then the infinitive of the verb, like
Katja: "אפשר לקנות."
John: If someone asks you if they can do something, you can answer quite colloquially
Katja: "אפשר."
John: Listen again - "possible, may, able" is...
Katja: (SLOW) אפשר (efshar) (REGULAR) אפשר (efshar)
John: All together, it’s "Finally! They have figs!"
Katja: סוף-סוף! אפשר להשיג תאנים! (sof-sof! efshar lehasig te'enim!)
