Hello, everybody! Idit here. Welcome to Hebrew Top Words, and today we’re going to talk about what adjective describes your personality best. Let’s start!
1.
ביישן
(bayshan) “shy”
הילד הקטן שלי מאוד ביישן.
(hayeled hakatan sheli meod bayshan.) “My little child is very shy.”
2.
סבלני
(savlani) “patient”
כשמחכים בתור חשוב להיות סבלני.
(keshemechakim bator chashuv lihiot savlani.) “When waiting in line, it's important to be patient.”
3.
מנומס
(menumas) “polite”
הוא תמיד אומר תודה ובבקשה, הוא מאוד מנומס.
(Hu tamid omer toda ubevakasha, hu meod menumas.) “He always says ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ He's very polite.”
4.
מצחיק
(matschik) “humorous”
התכונה שהכי חשובה לי בגבר היא שהוא יהיה מצחיק.
(hatchuna shehakhi chashuva li begever hi shehu yhie matschik.) “The most important quality for me in a man is that he will be humorous.”
I think, that’s, like, a common thing to say for girls, right? Maybe not too much because I’m kind of am.

אם אתה הולך ללמוד מתמטיקה באוניברסיטה, עדיף שתהיה שקדן.

(yashar) “honest”
אנחנו לא נסתדר אם אתה לא תהיה ישר.
(anachnu lo nistader im ata lo tihie yashar.) “We're not going to get along unless you're honest.”

נבון
(navon) “clever”
לפעמים הבן שלי פשוט יותר מדי נבון.
(lifamim haben sheli pashut yoter miday navon.) “Sometimes, my kid is just too clever.”
Too clever! I don’t really have a son.
8.
ערמומי
(armumi) “sly”
אומרים על השועל שהוא החיה הכי ערמומית.
(omrim al hashual shehu hachaya hakhi armumit.) “They say that the fox is the sliest animal.”
I don’t know, that’s how it is, like, you know, in kid stories and stuff, like they describe the fox as being sly. I don’t know, is it true, like, is it a sly animal? Maybe.

פעיל
(payil) “active”
הוא תמיד אהב להיות פעיל במועצת התלמידים.
(hu tamid ahav liot pail bemoetset hatalmidim.) “He always liked being active at the school council.”
10.
אדיב
(adiv) “kind”
אני משתדלת להיות אדיבה לכולם.
(ani mishtadelet liot adiva lekulam.) “I try to be kind towards everybody.”
