Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Yaara: The key word of any phrase regarding direction - such as "where are you going?" or "I'm going to that place" - is the preposition ל - "le", which means "to". let's practice some of its forms:
le'an?, meaning “where?”
le'mesiba, meaning “to a party.”
When the place you’re going to is a specific one, the "le" sound is combined with a "ha" sound, meaning "the", and turns into a "la" sound, for example..
ani holekh la'mesiba, meaning “I'm going to the party.”
or hi nosa'at la'mishpakha shela, meaning “she’s going to her family.”
Listeners, did you know that when you sneeze in Israel, people will say la'bri'ut, which means something like "to health!"

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Yaara: להתראות

Hi Orsi,

Thanks for posting! good work!

There is, however, one important mistake in your phrases - one goes to "ל" somewhere, not "in" "ב" somewhere.

Therefore, the corrected phrase will be: "אני לא הולכת לשום מקום".

Happy to help :)

Roi

Hi Stana and Shelley,

Thanks for posting!

@Shelley - Allow me to fix your phrase - .אני אעשה קצת גינון אם לא יירד גשם (...if it wouldn't rain = אם לא יירד גשם).

@Stana - Although one says sometimes "סוף שבוע", the correct form is "סוף השבוע" (the end OF the week), and in order to say "on the weekend" we must add a "ב" - therefore the correct phrase would be: בסוף השבוע אני הולכת לעבודה. (or - בסוף השבוע אלך לעבודה - in the future tense).

Happy to help!

Yours,

Roi

Chaverim-in the review please change "the work" to "to the work" which is the answer expected. Thank you.

I will do some gardening if there is no rain. Can I substitue "yesh" for "zeh" in that sentence? Thanks for your help.אני אעשה קצת גינון אם זה לא גשם
