Here is how you write מ (mem):
Begin by drawing a horizontal line from left to right, which serves as the bottom part of the letter. Draw a diagonal line upward from the right end of the horizontal line. Write another medium-sized diagonal line going down, starting at the top of the line you drew. A bit down from its top, draw a small diagonal line going down from left to right to connect them.
The cursive version is like this:

Be careful, though. It takes a different shape when it is written at the end of the word.
For the final form, called sofit, write a horizontal line from left to right. Draw a vertical line from the left of the line down, and do the same at its right side. Connect both vertical lines with a horizontal line at the bottom starting from the left side.
