In Hebrew, each letter has two forms: the cursive form, used in everyday handwriting, and the block form, seen in books, newspapers, and signs. Israeli children initially learn to write using this block-type writing.

Here is how you write א (alef):
Begin by drawing the primary diagonal line, starting at the top left. Next, create the upper arm by starting from the top and angling towards the main line. Finally, form the lower leg by starting from the main diagonal and curving downwards.
