Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Yaara: The key word of any phrase regarding direction - such as "where are you going?" or "I'm going to that place" - is the preposition ל - "le", which means "to". let's practice some of its forms:
le'an?, meaning “where?”
le'mesiba, meaning “to a party.”
When the place you’re going to is a specific one, the "le" sound is combined with a "ha" sound, meaning "the", and turns into a "la" sound, for example..
ani holekh la'mesiba, meaning “I'm going to the party.”
or hi nosa'at la'mishpakha shela, meaning “she’s going to her family.”
Listeners, did you know that when you sneeze in Israel, people will say la'bri'ut, which means something like "to health!"

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Yaara: להתראות
