Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Hebrew Season 1, Lesson 12 - Asking What Someone is Doing. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask and answer the question ‘What are you doing?’ in Hebrew.

Eric: First, we’ll learn how to say 'What are you doing?' in Hebrew.
Yaara: [Normal] מה אתה עושה?(ma ata ose?)
Eric: First is an interrogative meaning 'What'
Yaara: [Normal] מה [Slow] מה (ma)
Eric: Next is the pronoun meaning 'You'
Yaara: [Normal] אתה [Slow] אתה(ata)
Eric: Last is the verb meaning 'Do'
Yaara: [Normal] עושה [Slow] עושה(ose)
Eric: Listen again to the phrase meaning 'What are you doing?'

Yaara: In Hebrew, we often say Ma na’ase ba-erev? Which means “What are we going to do tonight?" For example, if you’re with some friends at night and you haven't decided your plans yet, you can ask this question and it will sound very natural: Ma na’ase ba-erev?
